CURDurham 2010
Info
and Online Registration Page The fourth annual National Rally is a go! The event is hosted by the "Head Cheese" and the "Official Consort & Snugglebunny To The Head Cheese" at the Saugeen Cedars Family Campground. This is a riverfront campground with full amenities located near the town of Hanover (directions and GPS coordinates are on their website) and a scant 10 minutes away from CURD World HQ. Hanover is located in Ontario, Canada, approximately 2.5hrs northwest of Toronto. As always, this is a family event - children and pets are encouraged to attend. Children under 16 are admitted FREE all weekend! We have booked a block of campsites right on the riverbank, so don't forget your swimsuits! Schedule Friday, 16 Jul: Chili supper, Bonfire Social Saturday, 17 Jul: Group Trail Ride, Brewery Tour, Catered Supper, Bonfire Social Sunday, 18 Jul: Brekkie Run, Awards Ceremony Accomodation and Fees Group Campsite - This is where all the action will be. Rally fees are $50 per person for the entire weekend and covers the cost of registration, the group camping site and the catered meal on Saturday evening. The breakfast on the Sunday is at a local restaurant and the cost is not included in the rally fee. If you are only attending on the Sunday, see the "Day Pass" section below. Note that children under 16 get in FREE for the entire weekend! RV/Trailer/Cabin - If you wish to stay in your own RV, camper trailer or one of the onsite cabins, you must book and pay for these sites yourself via the Saugeen Cedars Family Campground website. You will still need to fill out this online registration form, however, and send a registration fee of $25 per person to cover the costs of the rally registration and catered meal on Saturday. Day Pass - For those who just want to pop by and meet the gang rather than suffer through a night or an entire weekend with us, day passes are available at $3 per person . Do not fill out the online registration form if you are only staying for the day, but please send an email to the Rally Staff advising them of what day you'll be attending and how many will be with you - we need this info to ensure an accurate head count is given to the campground staff. Please note that anyone attending on a Day Pass for the Saturday will not be eligible for the registration package nor the catered meal. Events & Misc Info Chili Supper, Fri @ 6pm: Those who arrive on the Friday will be treated to generous helpings of the "Head Cheese's Famous Backfire Chili", lovingly cooked from scratch by the Head Cheese and his Official Consort/Snugglebunny. The cost of the meal is included in the registration fee. Bonfire Social, Fri & Sat @ 7pm: Although each group campsite will have its own firepit, there will be an evening "bonfire" at the center of the group site. Bring your own lawnchairs, beverages and munchies and share in the cameraderie and laughter. Noise laws go into effect at 11pm but the campsite staff will allow us to continue the party well into the wee hours of the morning, as long as we keep it down to a dull roar. Group Ride - Sat @ 2pm : Ride down some of the most scenic and interesting roads that Grey County has to offer in the company of fellow CURDites. The route will include a mixture of paved and gravel roads, with a few of the Head Cheese's favourite (but not too scary) trails. A separate off-road trail route will be available for the more adventurous types. Catered Meal - Sat @ 7pm : Roast beef, roast potatos, farm fesh roasted veggies, coffee, tea and dessert. Cost is included in the registration fee. Please note that people attending on a day pass are not eligible for the meal. Neustadt Springs Bewery & Caverns Tour - Sat @ 3pm : This is part of the Group Ride. Admission cost is included in the registration fee, but note that we are limited to a maximum of 25 people. Also note that children under 12 are not allowed on the tour due to safety concerns. NO SAMPLES will be given out during the tour (this was done at the Head Cheese's request) but participants are welcome to purchase their own from the brewery's onsite store at the end of the tour. Brekkie Run & Awards - Sun @ 11am: The rally will wrap up with a ride to Steven's Bar-BQ Restaurant in the nearby town of Markdale for brunch. This will be a buffet style meal at a cost of $15 per person, which is NOT included in your registration fee. We will have a private room all to ourselves and once the meal is finished we will have the awards session. Local Amenities & Attractions: Grey County is known for its many tourist attractions, so if the rally's scheduled events don't strike your fancy you are more than welcome to explore the area on your own. Several restaurants, beer/liquor stores, grocery stores, gas stations, etc, are available in the town of Hanover approx 5min west on Grey Rd 4 from the campground. Pics of the Campsite
