Great ride report....enjoyed it a lot..
I noticed the med cannister you have on the back. I have one just like it, I think. Would you mind getting a close-up picture of how you mounted it on the rear of the bike. I like the way you mounted it. Where did you get the bracket? Please let me know. Thanks!

Charlie, it's just mounted on the two upper screws which mount the rear taillight assembly to the guard. I removed those screws, had my kid hold the can steady while I scribed from under the mudguard. Then drilled the holes and mounted using slightly longer screws.

Thanks Pidgey.....simple and smart....great!
BTW, your "24,000 km and I haven't been anywhere" is no longer true. You ought to change it to "have been somewhere" :smiwink:

Howdy pidgey,

Just read your ride report  thanks for taking us along and sharing the tale and photos. :canflag:
Rider of the "CCXCB" a 2005 Gear-Up, that has been and is still being abused horribly.

Rider of the "TT" a 2008 Gear-Up, that has toured the outer perimeter of the USA, is a veteran of Death Valley and other such silliness.

Aww, hell, I missed you-I was even on the lookout, too! Probably saw your son at some point though, they've been all over town every weekend.

I saw that CJ, though-only once, but still.

Was taking a few pics when the owner showed up. Older guy, he says "Bet you don't know what that is"
I says "Sure I do, it's a Chang Jiang" Then I told him I have a Ural, and we chatted for a bit.
It's a '69, fully restored; he paid 6 grand for it from the guy in Brooks, Alberta and had it shipped up to Whitehorse.

He said he's no mechanic, but knows one who helps him keep it running. I of course wished him well with it.

Heyyo Pidgey!

Awesome report. Thank you. Great pictures too, very inspiring.
I was going to post some pics of my last day trip in the Flathead Range but it seems so futile compared to your adventure!

Please do.......Would be cool if all us westerners could do a trip, if not this year, next for sure. I was looking at that Beemer rally in Nakusp, but a lot of B.C. is on fire at the moment, so I dunno :dunno:
